What does Fly agaric look like?

The storybook toadstool — a bright red (sometimes orange or yellow) cap dotted with white warts, white gills, and a white stem with a ring and a bulbous base.

Is Fly agaric dangerous?

Toxic and psychoactive — eating it causes serious illness (nausea, confusion, delirium). Rarely fatal in adults but genuinely dangerous, and the warts can wash off and fool you.

What should I do about Fly agaric?

Admire it, don't eat it. Keep curious children and pets away.

Never decide what's safe to eat or touch from a photo or a web page. Identification here is for learning and curiosity only. For anything you might eat, handle or that could harm you or a pet, consult a qualified local expert, and seek medical or veterinary care if exposure has happened.
