What does Red fox look like?

A dog-like animal with a rusty-red coat, black 'stockings' on the legs, large pointed ears, and a long bushy tail tipped white.

Is Red fox dangerous?

Shy and very rarely a threat to people. Like any wild canid it can carry rabies or mange, so never approach or feed one — and be wary of any fox active by day that shows no fear.

• Coyote: larger, grayer, with a black-tipped tail

What should I do about Red fox?

Don't feed foxes, and secure poultry and small pets at night.
